Biocompatible nanoparticles have gained considerable attention in recent years for potential applications in nanomedicine due to their interesting size dependent chemical, electronic and optical properties. The laboratory has undertaken the synthesis and characterization of gold, carbon, iron oxide and arsenic coated gold nanoparticles and currently studying their potential applications in biology and medicine.
