Current research Interest: Exploring genetic polymorphisms in DNA repair, antioxidant and detoxifying genes that increases succeptibility to panmasala / gutkha induced Oral submucous Fibrosis.

  • Received ‘Young Scientist Award’ from Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam at the 99th Indian Science Congress, in the New Biology (including Biochemistry, Biophysics & Molecular Biology and Biotechnology) held at KIIT, Bhubaneshwar, Odhisa, 3-7th January 2012.
  • Won the Best Poster Presentation award in seminar on “Emerging areas of researches in the field of biotechnology: Vision for 21st century” held at Jadavpur University, on 27th February 2010, organized by the Science Association of Bengal on ‘National Science Day Programme 2010’.
